This proposal is the product of research conducted by members of the ArteM(y)SA Network on an artistic, educational, collaboratively authored, participatory, and sustainable artistic project-process that promotes reuse and recycling, both individually and collectively, using an active and participatory methodology and an experimental approach. It is designed to foster and produce collaborative actions that create intersections between heritage, contemporary art specifically Trash Art, and recycling. In It the consumption habits are managed and waste generated in the immediate surroundings is incorporated as an artistic resource to interpret the bestiary on the Mudéjar ceiling of Teruel Cathedral in two dimensions. The theoretical framework links two concepts that are worked on together: Art Education and Environmental Education, to raise awareness of environmental problems, seek ways to address them, and reflect on some of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
Among its contributions, it is worth highlighting that it is an innovative proposal that adopts new learning strategies with an experimental approach, leveraging digital environments to generate a synchronous, open, and diverse space for shared communication and to foster meaningful learning and the comprehensive development of the participants (members of the ArteM(y)SA network and students from the Universities of Zaragoza and Porto). The main objective is to generate synergies between the two universities. The results have been presented at exhibitions and conferences in Spain, France and Portugal.
